Crowsnest Pass, Alberta – Before and After

As you cross the Rockies on Highway 3 (Crossnest Highway) between Alberta and British Columbia over the Crowsnest Pass there are little towns, such as Blairmore and Coleman, which are beautiful and offer lots of charm and outdoor recreational activities year round. There is also the Interpretive Center for Frank Slide, which highlights not only the heritage of the area but the details of Canada’s deadliest rockslide in 1903.  There is also the beautiful Crowsnest Lake and Island Lake which offer a very large rest area, picnic tables, and a bit of history of the area. A great place for stopping in a big rig.

Further east from the Pass in Alberta is the town of Fort MacLeod known for its old fort and the Musical Ride. Well worth the stop.

Further to the west from the pass in British Columbia is the town of Sparwood known for having the World’sLargest Truck, a must see!
