2019 – Winter in Arizona

Cave Creek Arizona Spur Cross
Yep, it snows in Arizona – Cave Creek

We have spent the winter in the Phoenix area as we prepare for our next adventures with selling our motorhome and tow vehicle and doing a much needed upgrade to both!! We are planning to buy a  newer and smaller RV to allow us more flexibility to areas we travel to and a brand spanking new tow vehicle.  Even with all that work we managed to get out and enjoy a few Arizona winter activities.

Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix

These gardens are at Papago Park in Phoenix and showcase a variety of desert plants along with a variety of nature trails. The gardens also offer a variety of dining and special events. We have been a multitude of times and we always enjoy it.

Around and About in Cave Creek and Carefree

The winter was spent doing a bit of Christmas shopping, family get togethers, several events, and just hanging out. AND lots of RV Shows!

Phoenix Zoo Lights

The Phoenix Zoo does a great presentation of lights during the holiday season. It is the zoo’s largest fundraiser where there are over 4 million lights and over 700 light sculptures. It makes for a fun evening. Note that the viewing of animals is quite limited as most are off sleeping in the dark. Watch out for any loose tigers on the trails (JOKE!).

Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix

Wow, what a fabulous museum! Even if you aren’t that into music it is a great experience and one not to be missed! If you love music then this is a must see.

Barrett Jackson Car Auction in Scottsdale

Who can resist a car show?  Even if you don’t like cars there’s plenty to do at the show with not only lots and lots of cars on display, but lots of food, events, vendors, and plenty of people watching.

City of Tempe – Tempe Town Lake

The city of Tempe now has a lake called the Tempe Town Lake which is about 2 miles long and was created by damming the Salt River. There’s a beach along the lake next to the Tempe Center for the Arts and various walking areas. A pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Now back to RV Shopping!!
