Pecan Valley RV Park – Junction, Texas

As we headed east on I-10 through Texas we passed Fort Stockton and headed on towards Tunis Springs where we made a lunch stop.

We continued on towards Junction with plans to boondock at the city park located along the river. Most state parks in the area were closed for hunting during our time in that area so we thought the city park sounded ideal. The weather made a quick turn for the worse with temps forecasted to be well, well, well below freezing. We would do fine with our propane but we thought let’s stop at an RV park somewhere in the area. We stumbled across this RV park and stopped by and got their last site! Thank you. What a wonderful place.

The RV park is nestled between a lovely pecan orchard and the North Llano River. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had lovely sunny weather while there albeit very cold at night. The camp host said it was 18 degrees F on the morning we arrived. BRRRR!

Comments: We love, love, love this RV Park. It is large and spacious and sits right on the North Llano River next to a pecan tree orchard. It is a beautiful property. There are chickens roaming the campground along with deer and even some goats in their pen. The owners sell raw pecans, sugared pecans, and fresh eggs. It was wonderful!!!

The campground has around 20 sites situated around the perimeter with a big open field in the center. They have an area for campfires by the river, a goat pen, lots of free range chickens running around dodging RVs as they pull in, deer running through the campground, and great views of the pecan orchards. There is a big area for Texas BBQ’s, corn hole, a garden, and they even have a fishing hole and a swimming area along the river.

We had fun watching the animals and just walking around getting a feel for the place. The chickens kept following me and there were times I would open the door to the RV and they would be standing right by our door as if they were waiting for us. Yep, someone must be feeding them!!!

We purchased some of the pecans and they were delicious. We didn’t buy any eggs since our fridge was full of them already. All in all this place was terrific.

It is a lovely place and we highly recommend this RV park and hope to return soon!
