Anza Borrego 17 Palms

Today we decided to take a rest from hiking and do some exploring. Off we went with not a real destination in mind but loaded up with maps, GPS, food, water, etc. and headed towards Arroyo Salado Palm Oasis. We headed out Highway 22 east to mile marker 38.4 and turned south on the dirt road to the Arroyo Salado …

Borrego Springs Clark Dry Lake

This is one of our favorite hikes while boondocking in the Clark Dry Lake area. It is an easy, almost flat, hike of about 8 miles roundtrip across Clark Dry Lake and over to the far side near the base of the mountains at a beautiful oasis (also known as Clark Well). We have hiked to the oasis several …

Another beautiful day in Anza Borrego so another day to go on a long hike. We choose Wilson Trail, a “moderate” hike we have had our eye on for several years but there just never seemed to be enough time. Wilson Trail follows Pinyon Ridge for about 4.5 miles which makes it a 9 mile round-trip hike. The trail head …

Palm Canyon Campground Borrego Springs California

We have stayed at the Palm Canyon Campground countless times and find that even through it can be almost full in the winter (Jan, Feb, March) we can almost always get a spot for a few nights.  We sometimes make reservations ahead of time if need be but not always.  The park was less than 50% full in December, what …

We stored our RV at The Springs at Borrego this year and flew out of Palm Springs to head to Florida (family) for a few weeks. Worked great and was real easy and inexpensive. It is outdoors and uncovered but in a locked gated area. Link to Map in “Where We’ve Been”
