Lundbreck Falls Provincial Park – Alberta

We have stayed at Lundbreck Falls on countless occasions and have found it easily accessible for an overnighter. In the past few years the summer months have found the campground always full so we have stayed elsewhere. This year we were passing through during the off season and we were the only ones there!!! Yay!!

Campground: Lundbreck Falls Provincial Park (upper campground)
Location: Lundbreck Falls, Alberta
Site: 12 – back-in
Cost: $24 ($30 CAD)
Services: E (30AMP)
Comments: A small campground close to Highway 3 in southern Alberta.  The campground has somewhat recently switched to reservations only for many of the sites during the busy summer months. Off peak season the sites are first come first serve.

The camping area is divided into the upper and lower campgrounds. We have always stayed in the upper campground.  The lower campground, along the Crowsnest River, is usually full, it offers more wind protection (and this area can be windy), but it is tight and narrow driving down to the river and most of the sites are small. Since we are usually just staying overnight we choose the simple path, the upper campground.  The sites in the upper campground are all back-ins and offer only electric but on a cold, windy night it is perfect.

Just north of this campground is Highway 22 which runs parallel and west of Highway 2. We love this ranch country and always enjoy the drive along this beautiful scenic road.
