Hyclass Ocean Campground – Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia

We left Chester and headed east to Havre Boucher on our way to Cape Breton Island. The Havre Boucher area seemed like a good place to stop and spend the night before crossing over to the island.

Hyclass Ocean Campground is about 4 or 5 miles off Highway 104 and about 10 minutes to the Canso Causeway and sits along the Linwood Harbor Bay.   The road is well signed for pointing you towards the campground.

Campground: Hyclass Ocean Campground
Location: Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia (on Linwood Harbor Bay)
Site: B16
Cost: $46 (CAD)
Services: FHU
Comments: A tired, older RV park with great ocean views.  The amenities seemed old and not kept up so you may not want to use them (i.e., the laundry and restrooms and showers) but site hookups worked fine.  The WiFi did not work when we arrived but they quickly got on it and had it fixed within an hour. The staff was courteous and friendly. It put us in the right location and we had a lovely view. The campground was basically empty since we were early in the season. There appeared to be a row of seasonal campers who we never saw and then 2 other RVs showed up for the evening but that was it!! Peace and quiet.

There are about 75 sites, some serviced and with views of the bay and others unserviced and in the trees. There is a point on the end of the small peninsula with chairs, a volleyball net, and children’s play equipment all with great views of the bay.
