Gateway to the North RV Park is located on Route 430 just before entering Deer Lake (when coming from the north via Gros Morne National Park). We drove in and there was a small building at the front with a sign that said find a site and park, so we did.
RV Park: Gateway to the North RV Park
Location: Deer Lake, Newfoundland
Site: 35 (pull thru)
Cost: $43.70 (CAD)
Services: FHU
Comments: A perfect park for an overnight to allow us access to WiFi and laundry facilities. It was easy access and large enough for big rigs so there was plenty of space.
I walked around looking for the advertised laundry and came across the office in the far back. The sign was hidden by a big RV so I went in there and registered and the owner was an extremely friendly man who began telling me all about Newfoundland and the Maritimes and before long he took me into his garage to show me his rebuilt motorcycles!! I did finally get registered and found the laundry (back by our RV)!
The park wasn’t much to look at but it provided a quick overnight and time to get some internet and laundry done. It looked like a seasonal RV Park where locals park there RV for the summer and visit on weekends (i.e., lots of sites were taken but no one was around).
