Jim & Mary’s RV Park – Wye, Montana

Off we go driving from Coeur d’Alene to the Missoula area. This means heading over 4th of July Pass and Lookout Pass (on the Idaho/Montana border). We spent a number of years in the winter trying to get over Lookout Pass in a big rig with snow and ice. We would constantly study the weather and the webcams to see when the best time was to drive it. One time we made it up Lookout Pass heading east with only one lane (the other lane covered in snow). Traffic was moving slow but it was moving and it wasn’t snowing. When we arrived at the top of the pass and entered into Montana it was snow in every lane. Obviously, Idaho was plowing I-90 and Montana wasn’t. At least not yet.

On the way we passed by Wallace which is a quaint, charming town and is known as the “Center of the Universe”, really!!

Jim and Mary’s RV park is in Wye which is located about 10 miles west of Missoula along I-90. We had been wanting to stay here for a number of years since we had read such nice reviews about the place but since it was so close to our home we would always just keep driving. This time we stayed here. We made a reservation ahead of time with very little problem (we took one of the last sites).

Jim and Mary’s has been owned by Walt and Judy since 2000. They are the ones responsible for all the flowers, growing them from seed, and designing all the displays. The place is breathtaking!

RV Park: Jim & Mary’s RV Park
Location:  Wye, Montana (just west of Missoula)
Site:  D4 (pull thru)
Cost: $46.61
Services:  FHU
Comments:  A treed RV Park with close proximity to I-90 yet far enough away not to hear the noise.  During the summer the flowers around the park are incredible. They are everywhere. You can tell that Jim & Mary (i.e., Walt and Judy) take excellent care of their park, their flowers, and their customers.
COVID Awareness: 10 out of 10.  It was a contactless check-in.  We were emailed ahead of time alerting us to their COVID awareness, how they cleaned, what was open, and that we would receive a text message the morning of our check-in with a site map and our site number. We received the text at 9am exactly.  And they told us we were welcome to come into the office if need be. They offer Good Sam discounts at check-in. I emailed them a picture of our card which they gladly accepted and provided the discount. We did not need to go into the office. We drove directly to our site. A few minutes later someone came by with a clipboard, checked our site, and about 10 minutes later we received an email receipt. Thank you Jim & Mary’s. Perfect!

The campground has about 70 sites with lots of pull thrus and lots of shade. There are only a few sites that satellite could be used but they do offer cable TV. In our site we were unable to receive satellite but they told us that when we made a reservation.  The laundry room building had lovely flowers all around it.

The park has flowers, statues, and floral displays everywhere. It is a treat to just walk around and admire all the beauty and hard work.  It certainly is a beautiful place.
