Graves Island Provincial Park – Chester, Nova Scotia

Welcome to Graves Island. Yes, this campground is on an island but it is a short drive to get over to the island on a narrow causeway.

The island is just over 100 acres and has a nice trail which goes around a good part of the island. The sites here are very nice and many have great views of the surrounding bay. The campground is close to the charming town of Chester for restaurants and shopping.

Campground: Graves Island Provincial Park

Comments: A beautiful campground with large sites with site privacy. Our site had a great view out to the islands and Big Tancook Island. We really enjoyed this park. It was nicely situated almost halfway between Lunenberg and Peggy’s Cove for our sightseeing.

The campground had a number of nice sites and many with views. The tent sites had some really wonderful views and were closer to the water. All sites had easy access to the trails.

There is a several kilometer trail which circles around the island and offers great views into the bay and the islands. It also has signs along the way with “Did you know?” information which helps educate you about the area.  This park was also the first Geocaching location in Canada in the year 2000.

And when it rains, which is almost all the time, what a better way to wash the RV and the car. We got lots of washing days!
