Mountain Valley RV Park – Heber City, Utah

Off to Utah! We departed Idaho Falls and crossed the Snake River and headed south to Pocatello, home of Idaho State University. We continued on to Utah and took the I-84 bypass around Salt Lake City heading towards Heber City. We passed by the Wasatch Peaks Ranch which is a private mountain community offering not only skiing but golfing and year round activities. It is reportedly about $500,000 for membership costs along with ongoing annual dues. We did not join in case you were wondering.

We continued on to Heber City still aghast at the amount of development and building in the Park City/Deer Valley area. Every time we are here there is more and more building, more and more condos, more and more houses, more and more hotels and restaurants. The area is facing rapid growth, lots of traffic, issues with water supply, and environmental concerns. It is about a 30 minute drive further south to the lovely, quaint area of Heber City. This area has about 20,000 people and is the county seat of Wasatch County. It has beautiful mountain views and somewhat of a small town feel but it is also growing and we noticed a change since our last visit.

We stayed at the Mountain Valley RV Park in Heber City. It is supposedly one of the finest RV resorts in the west and is the highest rated park in Utah. It is open year round and is a gated resort with lots of amenities. The Clubhouse at the entrance is for guest registration but also has a small shop, a lounge area, and access to the outdoor swimming pool.

Our reservations were for an “adult only” area meaning no one under 18 allowed. We were escorted to our site via an employee on a golf cart. The site was quite wide and level with lovely views.

The resort offers 98 sites for family friendly guests varying from 40′ back-ins to large 80′ pull thrus. The Adults Only area has 95 large 80′ x 30′ pull thru sites. There are also cabins (both rustic and deluxe) along with tent sites.

The Adult Only area is lovely and well maintained and situated towards the back of the resort.

There are a few Pickleball courts and a dog park which are located next to a building with restrooms along with a campfire area and picnic tables.

There is an additional Clubhouse in the Adults Area that is separate from the Registration Main Clubhouse and has its own outdoor swimming pool.

And, yes, various food trucks appear near the Clubhouses on different days.

And just when you think life can’t get any better you discover they also have an RV Wash on site! YAY!

It is a beautiful RV resort and provides easy access to the surrounding area including not only Heber City, but Park City, Deer Valley, Jordanelle Reservoir, and Deer Creek Reservoir.

Just watch out for Sasquatch as there had been a few reported sightings!
