Those Young Guys

Riverside Ranch RV Park – Hatch, Utah

We departed Heber City and headed south to a wonderful view of the Timpanogos. This is a prominent mountain in the Wasatch Range named after a tribe of Native Americans who inhabited much of this area. It is also home to the Sundance Mountain Resort which offers skiing, hiking, lodging, dining, fishing, and events.

The Deer Creek Reservoir is only about 15 minutes southwest of Heber City and about 30 minutes north of Provo. The reservoir has fishing, boating, and camping. Deer Creek State Park is located along the reservoir and offers not only day use and group areas but also three campgrounds. We also saw a zipline and rope course called Zipline Utah.

We traveled on to Provo and passed some of the many (33 to be exact) murals in downtown Provo along with the bubble gum car!

From Provo we got on the I-15 and traveled a few hours to the city of Beaver. The city has about 4,000 inhabitants. It has a quaint downtown area with a variety of restaurants, diners, and murals.

Our favorite place is The Creamery which offers a restaurant, an ice cream shop, and a variety of dairy products and goods for sale. It is owned by the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and is a farmer owner cooperative. It is always crowded when we are there but there is plenty of space for large RVs to park. We think the best meal there is the braised short rib grill cheese sandwich. Oh my.

After lunch we journeyed another hour to Panguitch which is another small quaint charming town and serves as a gateway to Bryce Canyon National Park.

We have stayed in a Panguitch a number of times and are always wanting to try some place new. And we did! About 15 minutes further south from Panguitch is the town of Hatch with a population of about 130 people. It is another great location for visiting some of the local sites in the area such as Bryce Canyon National Park (22 miles), Kodachrome State Park (33 miles), Zion National Park (42 miles), Grand Staircase-Escalante Monument (19 miles), Coral Pink Sand Dunes (49 miles), Mammoth Caves (19 miles), Red Canyon (10 miles), and many more.

Welcome to the Riverside Ranch and RV Park which has RV sites, motel rooms, and tent camping along the Sevier River.

RV Park: Riverside Ranch RV Park
Location: Hatch, Utah
Site: A7 (pull thru)
Cost: $65.33

Comments: A lovely, well maintained campground/RV park with lovely views along the Sevier River.

The park was pretty empty when we were there so we had lots of space to see the views.

There is a small amphitheater, a group campfire area, and lots of grass tent camping and/or group camping along the river.

The Red Dirt Diner is next to the RV park and has not only great food but fabulous views out the back window of the red canyon.

So long, until we meet again!
